Premier League: Pep Guardiola is “desperate” for Kane’s signature ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash: Pep Guardiola is rumored to be “desperate” to sign Harry Kane in the ongoing summer transfer window. According to various reports, the Man City head coach fears a slow poor start to the season just like last year which saw City slotted 11th on the league table after 8 games.
Gabriel Jesus returned from his holidays just last week and is yet to undergo proper pre-season training ahead of the new season. This has left the reigning PL champions without a proper number 9 resulting in Pep pushing for Harry Kane’s signature.
In order to avoid a similar start to the campaign, Pep wants to sign Kane as soon as next week. Manchester City has also taken a massive step in their pursuit of the Spurs skipper by placing a £120million bid for the English international.

Premier League: Kane refused to attend Tottenham training
The 28-year-old attacker has not trained with the Spurs squad since his summer break in the Bahamas. He has been self-isolating after returning to the UK and was also late to report for his pre-season training.
With Kane undergoing a period of quarantine, the wantaway England captain will now join the squad on Friday, provided his coronavirus PCR test results are negative. He could return to the Enfield training base and catch up with his fitness before featuring for Nuno Espirito Santo this season.
Premier League: Harry Kane is determind to leave Spurs
The Spurs skipper is determined to leave the North London side despite having three years left on his contract. He has often expressed his desire to win compete at the highest level and win titles. It is something that he could achieve with Man City who is also his preferred destination.
However, club chairman Daniel Levy doesn’t want to see the Number 9 leave the London outfit for anything less than 160 million euros. Spurs and Manchester City are set to lock horns in their first match of the Premier League with both teams said to continue their talks on Kane after their clash.
Pep Guardiola will look to land the Spurs captain as soon as possible. He will be eager to not stretch the deal until the deadline day of the ongoing summer transfer window. Man City will also be keen on not playing many games without a recognized striker leading the line. It remains interesting to see how the Etihad outfit will plan and structure a deal that could meet the Spurs’ demands and bring Kane to Manchester this summer.
