The 23-year-old has an average performance score of 1315 and he sits behind German Johannes Vetter (1396), who finished ninth in the Olympics.

Komalika enters final, eyes successive world titles
Promising Indian archer Komalika Bari, who is the reigning under-18 recurve world champion, remained in hunt for a title at the under-21 level by sailing into the final of the Youth World Championships. India also secured a second medal when Sakshi Chaudhary entered the compound junior women’s final, while her teammate Rishabh Yadav kept himself in line for a bronze. The sixth seed Komalika will take on fourth seed Elia Canales of Spain in the final in her bid to emulate Deepika Kumari. Deepika is the only Indian to have won successive cadet and junior titles (in Ogden 2009 and Legnica 2011).

Australia head coach Justin Langer was reportedly involved in a confrontation with a Cricket Australia staffer over a video posted on the board’s website, showing the Bangladesh players celebrating their maiden series win against the tourists last week. Langer and Australia team manager Gavin Dovey reportedly “became animated” in relation to a video added to the website after the third match, which Bangladesh won, taking a 3-0 lead in the recently concluded five-match T20 series. The hosts won the series 4-1.

Home favourites Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov were ousted from the National Bank Open. Auger-Aliassime lost 7-5 6-4 to Dusan Lajovic, while Shapovalov lost 6-1 6-4 to Frances Tiafoe. In the women’s event in Montreal, Canadian wild card Rebecca Marino continued her run by beating Paula Badosa 1-6 7-5 6-4. The 30-year-old Marino upset No. 16 seed Madison Keys in the first round.
