If there’s anything that Sobhita Dhulipala’s beauty look confirms, it’s that our love affair with radiant skin and reflective finishes is still going strong. The look, which featured flushed cheeks, shiny lips and skin that gleamed like a glazed donut, is the handiwork of makeup artist Niti Goenka. The formula for achieving that level of glow? Ditch powders for creamy sticks, balms and glosses. But more importantly—the secret to looking dewy, and not greasy? Two words: strategic powdering. Read on for all the details.

- To create a luminous base like Dhulipala’s, prep your skin with a hydrating primer. Next, use a creamy stick foundation like the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick all over the face, concentrating on areas that need coverage. Smear and blend a creamy concealer under the eyes. Then, with a small tapered brush, dust a light layer of translucent powder only on areas where you tend to get shiny—a dab around the nose, above the chin and between the brows. But, don’t go overboard. You want to retain as much glow as possible.
- With your fingers, press a highlighting balm like the Makeup By Mario Master Secret Glow along the cheekbones for a glass-like finish. Then, apply a cream bronzer along the temples, hairline, jawline and contours of the cheeks. Add a wash of colour on the cheeks with a coral cream blush.
- Apply a muted gold eyeshadow all over the lids, blended into the eye sockets. Next, trace along the lash line with a black felt tip liner and extend to create a wing.
- Use a kohl pencil like the Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal in Deep Black in the waterline. Then, with a pencil brush, run the gold shadow along the lower lash line to soften the look. Apply a coat of mascara on the top and bottom lashes. Next, stick a pair of subtle false eyelashes like the PAC Tapered Lash in 49 close to the lash line. Once the glue has dried, use your liquid liner to cover the seams of the falsies.
- Shade and fill gaps in your eyebrows with a brow pencil and use a gel like the KUSH Fiber Brow Gel to comb through them and make them appear fuller.
- Exfoliate your lips with a lip scrub and dab a light layer of a waxy lip balm to prep them. Then, blot off any excess product and colour your lips with a pink-nude lip liner, making sure to define the edges. Lastly, apply two coats of a pigmented, peachy-brown lip gloss like the Hourglass Unreal High Shine Volumizing Lip Gloss in Ignite all over the lips.
