NOIDA: Two
housing societies in Noida have reported four
Covid cases each in the past 15 days. The last time these complexes had positive cases was about two months ago.
While the office of the
CMO has been informed, the compounds have been sanitised. Residents’ welfare associations (
RWAs) have been asked to keep tabs on the situation and update the health department regularly.
About 15 days ago, Eldeco Utopia in Sector 93A reported four cases, all from one family. “One of the family members was travelling and the person tested positive after returning home. Eventually, three others tested positive in that family. They all have recovered now,” said PK Mishra from Eldeco Utopia Apartment Owners’ Association (AOA). Earlier this week, four cases were reported in Lotus Boulevard, Sector 100, and three patients were from one family. The AOA has sanitised the towers and common areas in the complex.
“We are following all sanitisation protocols and we have informed the health department. Our helpdesk is calling up the families regularly to ask about their health and if they need anything to be delivered,” said Tej Prakash, president, Lotus Boulevard AOA.
So far this month, the maximum number of cases (4) was recorded on August 3 and 11. While there were no new cases on three days, for the rest of the days, the number of fresh cases was either one or two. According to sources, several private laboratories are not added to the state portal and there might be delay in uploading numbers in some cases. The tally is updated the next day in such cases.
Officials said RWAs, AOAs and nigrani samitis are giving daily updates to health teams. “People need to stay alert and follow Covid protocols. RWAs and nigrani samitis are updating us and it helps us in contact tracing and surveillance. Recently, we found two positive cases among the travellers we had screened,” district magistrate Suhas LY said.
So far, 272 travellers have been traced by the health department and 35 of them visited high-risk states.
They have all been tested, officials said.
