Team USA clinched their first win on Irish soil and retained the International King’s Cup with a whopping 86-point victory over Team Ireland at Glasson Lakehouse.
The event was played in a Ryder Cup style format
over three days with the fourball betterball, scotch foursomes and singles matches played over 18 holes with two points for a win and one point for every halved hole.
While there were final day wins for Martin Conroy, Edmond Ryan, Martin Peters, Colin O’Leary, Michael Ryan, Pat Creamer and Cormac Ryan, the USA still won eight of the 16 singles to clinch a 619-533 win.
Qualifiers for the 2021 Team Ireland side took place at Donegal Golf Club, Moyola Park Golf Club, Castlewarden Golf Club and Dundrum House Hotel followed by a National Qualifier at Glasson Golf Club.
The 6th International King’s Cup will be back at Glasson Golf Club in 2022.
