Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.53% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:45AM (IST) on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Cipla (up 0.46 per cent), Biocon (up 0.2 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Lupin (down 5.56 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 2.54 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (down 0.93 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.58 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.53 per cent at 14214.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 36.55 points at 16318.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 122.28 points at 54648.21.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Zomato Ltd. and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indoco Remedies, VIP Ind., Nelco Ltd, Brooks Labs and UTI AMC hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Market, Network People Services Technologies Ltd., Viceroy Hotels, Radha Madhav and YES Bank hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
