Thane, Aug 11 (UNI) A day after the Thane ACB laid a trap and arrested two staff members of the Education Department of the Nashik Zilla Parishad for alleged bribe of Rs. 8 lakh the education officer involved in the crime is absconding the ACB stated at Thane on Wednesday.
The Superintendent of Police ACB Thane Range Dr. Panjabrao Ugale stated in an official release that the police have spread a dragnet for the lady officer Vaishali Pankaj Veer, 45, (Secondary) Nashik Zilla Parishad.
The ACB officials who on the directions of the Director General of State ACB laid a trap and arrested the two others said that house searches were carried of all the three today which revealed their immoveable properties.
The release said that the duo arrested were Dyaneshwar Suyaban Yevle, 49, government driver and Pankaj Ramesh Dashpute, 38, Primary Teacher, Nashik.
It further said that the duo were caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 8 lakh from the management of the educational institute which runs four schools, for fixing the position of the teaching and non teaching staff of the school and drawing their pending salary as per the government norms and to keep the same continued in future.
The duo were produced before the special court at Nashik and were remanded into police custody till August 13, it was stated.
An offence under sections 7 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the trio with the Badrakali police station of Nashik the official said.
The team of officials of the ACB carried out the house search of the absconding accused education officer and found that she had on her name two flats one at Murbad, Kalyan road, Gandhre, Kalyan, Gangapur, Nashik, and Shivaji Nagar Nashik.
She also had plots in Sinnar, Nashik ( one plot( , Milind Nagar Kalyan, (04 Plots), and property in Sinnar nashik. Cash of Rs. 40,000. Honda City car and Activa Motor Cycle, and pass books of the SBI, BOB, CUB, PNB etc etc the release said.
The team also seized from the driver pass books of him and his wife, and children, and further search was on.
The team found one Two bhk flat on the name of Teacher, besides Honda Dream Motor Cycle, and Hona Activa Motor Cycle, besides bank accounts.
The searches were still going on it was stated.
