He thanked the Prime Minister for his valuable time and placed the demands for the tribal status for 12 left out communities, Limboo-Tamang seat reservation in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly and the visit of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje to Sikkim.
He briefed the Prime Minister about the historical significance of these demands and requested his intervention. Similarly, he stated that health and education are the priority sector of the state government and in this regard, he updated the Prime Minister about several projects which are in the pipeline including, 300 bedded hospitals at Namchi and the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose University of Excellence to name a few.
He apprised the Prime Minister about the road network in the state and added that Sikkim being a mountainous region requires good road connectivity to develop the far-flung areas, which will also be beneficial in terms of National security. He also informed about the damages to the roads throughout Sikkim due to the monsoon and requested his assistance.
The Chief Minister also presented a detailed memorandum regarding all the concerns to the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
