Mumbai, Aug 12 (UNI) Congress on Thursday penned a letter to the social media giant Twitter after the latter locked Mumbai Congress' official handle, citing violation of norms.
Prior to this, the micro-blogging site resorted to the same stern action against party MP Rahul Gandhi after he tweeted a picture of himself meeting with a rape victim's family in Delhi.
Blocking Mr Gandhi's twitter handle, Twitter reasoned that the photograph revealed the identity of sexual assault victim, which is against the company's policy.
Now, the party's apex body has written to Twitter raising objections over the move, Mumbai Congress Committee Working president Charan Singh Sapra said.
