HYDERABAD: Vigilance wing of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) busted illegal water connections racket and sealed a total of 130 such illegal water connections. Subsequently, four criminal cases were also booked against the property owners at Jawaharnagar P S.
This is the first ever incident, in the city and in HMWS&SB’s history, that a vigilance wing was caught 130 illegal water connections at a time.
On tip off, the vigilance wing on Wednesday, conducted a raid at
KCR Colony at Kapra
GHMC circle in Hyderabad and caught a total of 130 illegal water connections, red-handed.
“During the investigation, the vigilance wing found that four persons of KCR Colony formed a ‘residential welfare association’ and were involved in the offence of installing these illegal water connections. All these connections were installed in different premises at the same colony, without HMWS&SB’s permission,” P Tirupati, Inspector of the vigilance wing, who conducted a raid, told TOI.
Based on the HMWS&SB’s complaint on this raid, four criminal cases have been registered by the Jawaharnagar police against the
RWA members, said a water board official.
