U-18 archers shatter two qualifying world records

The Indian compound girls’ and mixed teams broke under-18 world records during their ranking round of the World Youth Championships here. The girls’ team of Priya Gurjar, Parneet Kaur and Ridhu Senthilkumar combined for a total of 2067 to better the previous record by 22 points. Priya also combined with Kushal Dalal for a mixed pair tally of 1401 to break the previous mark of 1387.

Former New Zealand cricket all-rounder Chris Cairns is on life support at a Canberra hospital after recently collapsing with a heart problem, New Zealand media reported. Cairns, 51, had undergone several operations after suffering an aortic dissection but had not responded to treatment as hoped.
