Rescue operations were halted for the last 2 hours due to shooting stones from uphill. At present, the national highway is closed. HRTC bus wreckage can be seen spread over 100 meters of area in the middle of the rubble.
Shooting stones are still falling which is creating problems in carrying out the rescue operation.

Thakur further said that the number of passengers travelling on the bus buried under debris is still not confirmed.
Till now 13 bodies have been recovered from the landslide site in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and state police teams are engaged in search and rescue operations at the Kinnaur landslide site.
