Story highlights
  • Realme has announced it will launch the Realme Book Slim in India.
  • Meanwhile, in China, the company is going to launch the Realme Book.
  • Realme Book will come with a tall screen and fast charging.

Realme's first laptop, the Realme Book, is finally coming. The company has put out a teaser confirming that the launch will take place on August 18. Realme Book is coming to China later this month, not India. But Realme has announced that India will get the Realme Book Slim on the same day, alongside the launch of the GT 5G and GT Master Edition.

In a media invite, Realme confirmed that the Realme Book Slim is going to be the company's first high-performance device. The launch event will begin at 12.30 pm on August 18 in India, while the China launch will happen at 3 pm local time on August 18.

Tipster Digital Chat Station spotted the poster Realme shared on Weibo and it shows the Realme Book in its full glory. The laptop seems to have a metal unibody with a tall screen. There is a big trackpad, much like that on the Apple MacBook Pro. I am not sure what mechanism the keyboard uses, but it seems like it is the same scissors-style keys that MacBook now comes with.

The looks of the Realme Book Slim are also out, but not in the way the marquee Realme Book has been shown off. Realme India and Europe CEO Madhav Sheth recently shared an image of him working alongside his colleagues and all of them using the Realme Book Slim. Only the backside of the laptop was visible, and it looked very much like the regular Realme Book. Since it is Realme Book Slim, you can expect it to be thinner than the Realme Book, but the exact thickness is not clear at this point. "Realme Book Slim will be one of the slimmest and lightest laptops available in its segment."

Realme has not revealed the specifications of the Realme Book and Realme Book Slim laptops yet, but I am expecting them to fall in line with what rumours have suggested so far. According to rumours, the Realme Book and Book Slim will come with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 65W fast charging.

The screen of the laptops will support 2K resolution and have an aspect ratio of 4:3. "Realme Book Slim will come with a screen ratio, which will show more content when viewing documents or browse websites, making it the perfect tool for your work and creation needs," Realme said in a statement. The laptops will come with Windows 10 out-of-the-box, but Realme has already promised they will get Windows 11 later this year.
