FEMA, FCC to test nationwide emergency alert system Wednesday
The alert will happen between 12:20 and 12:50 p.m.

The FCC and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will conduct a test of the national Emergency Alert System between 12:20 and 12:50 p.m. Wednesay, Aug. 11, 2021. EAS participants broadcast alerts and warnings regarding severe weather alerts, child abductions and other types of emergencies. The EAS alerts are transmitted over radio and television broadcast stations, cable television and other media services.
