ANALYSIS/OPINION:
The Biden administration’s Afghanistan policy to remove all troops from that country is a fiasco (“Taliban on the march; Biden under fire,” Page 1, Aug. 10).
Not only have we sacrificed 20 years of stability in the region since our initial occupation of Afghanistan, we have also opened up an opportunity for China and Russia to take over in that part of the world.
In addition, we have established a launching pad for attacks against the U.S. by radical Islam.
To maintain 5,000 troops in the region would have been a much more sensible approach.
