NBA legend Steph Curry gives take on Lionel Messi’s PSG transfer with shirt comparison

The three-time NBA champion took to social media to share his thoughts on Messi moving to PSG as the Argentine’s blockbuster transfer was confirmed

Stephen Curry weighed in on Lionel Messi’s mega transfer to Paris Saint Germain.

Like many, the Golden State Warriors point guard was excited by the Argentine’s move to the French capital after 21 years at Barcelona.

The three-time NBA champion took to Twitter and posted a photo of himself holding up a PSG shirt, side by side with a snap of Messi posing with one of his own jerseys.

He wrote: “Messi has some good taste I see. Good luck at PSG my guy.”

Curry will be hoping his side’s fortunes change next season after the Warriors fell just short of reaching the playoffs.

As far as individual accolades are concerned, the 33-year-old had a great campaign as he won the NBA scoring title for the second time in his illustrious career.

He also bagged the three-point contest over the NBA All-Star weekend and was named in the 2021-21 All-NBA first team.

Should the Warriors have all their star players healthy this year, they will be a huge threat in the Western Conference and will almost certainly reach the playoffs.

The sporting world was left stunned after Barcelona confirmed their greatest player would be leaving the club.

Messi held a tearful press conference where he thanked all those associated with the club and admitted he thought he was staying.

Struggling to contain his emotions, the football legend said: “This is really difficult for me after so many years, being here my entire life. I’m not ready for this. This year, my family were convinced we were going to stay here at home.

“We thought we’d be staying here in Barcelona . The time we’ve had here in the city and in the sport has been amazing.

“Well, today I have to say goodbye to all of this. I’ve been here so many years, since I was 13. After 21 years, I’m leaving with my wife, with my three little Catalan-Argentine kids.

“The truth is I am leaving. I am so grateful for the care people have shown me. I never imagined saying goodbye.”

He continued: “I leave this club without seeing the fans for one-and-a-half years. I would have imagined it with Camp Nou full and being able to say goodbye properly.”

The Argentine, 34, signed a two-year deal, with the option of an additional year, to move to the Parc des Princes.

Upon arrival he stated: “This club is ready to fight for all the trophies, this is my goal, to keep growing, keep winning titles and that’s why I’ve come here to this club.

“I’ll say this: My goal and my dream is to win the Champions League once more. I think Paris is the best place to do so. I think that we have the team to do it here. I hope we can make it happen.”
