In-vitro fertilization, commonly called IVF, is a fertility treatment that has helped many women achieve their dream of having a baby when they were not able to conceive naturally. It's an effective method for couples to get pregnant. But there are some myths related to fertility treatment that discourages people from opting for it. Here is a list of six common IVF myths.
Age is just a number
For opting for In vitro fertilization, age is not just a number. A couple has this misconception that they can get IVF treatment anytime, but that's not true. Age is a big factor for a successful IVF treatment. With age, the ability to conceive reduces and thus the success rate declines.
IVF is painful
IVF is not painful. The injectable medicine used in the procedure of IVF is administered by a technologically advanced pen, which is made painless. And the process of egg retrieval is done when the patient is sedated. Thus, IVF is not at all a painful process.
IVF babies face health issues
Millions of babies have been born through IVF and they are normal just like babies who have been conceived normally. IVF kids do not have any health complications.
Women have to take bed rest throughout pregnancy
