The XUV 700 is the most popular vehicle of 2021. It has created a lot of buzz around the internet and among people. Mahindra has been teasing the features of the XUV 700 for a while now. Until now, everyone was assuming the unveiling date and the launch date of the SUV. Mahindra has officially teased the unveiling date of the XUV 700 as 14th August at 4 PM. The video was uploaded on Mahindra’s YouTube channel.

The XUV 700 is an all-new SUV from the ground up. It is based on the W601 platform. Despite the name, the XUV 700 is a successor to the XUV 500. You could make out this from the styling that the XUV 700 carries.

Design

It comes with C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps, an imposing grille with six vertical slats and a new Mahindra logo, flush sitting door handles and arrow style LED tail lamps. There are large wheel arches and huge haunches over the rear wheel arches just like we saw on the XUV 500.

Features

Mahindra has been teasing first in segment features of the XUV 700. It will come with the largest in segment panoramic sunroof which Mahindra is calling Skyroof. There are flush sitting door handles which we still do not know are motorized or will be manually operated by the person getting into the car.

The SUV will come with AdrenoX interface for the infotainment system. There will be two screens in the cabin placed side by side so that they look like one huge screen. The infotainment system will be a touchscreen unit and will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also have voice commands through Alexa.

It will also come with auto booster headlamps which basically means automatic high beam function. The vehicle would detect when the vehicle crosses 80 kmph and will switch on the additional lights to increase the visibility. XUV 700 would also come with Driver Drowsiness Detection. It would detect when the driver starts to nod off and nudge them awake.

Mahindra also teased personalized safety alerts. Modern vehicles beep at you when you cross 80 kmph and then continuously beep when you cross the 120 kmph mark. The XUV 70o would be able to warn you about this speed warning in the voice of your loved ones.

Most powerful engines in the segment

Mahindra would offer the XUV 700 with petrol as well as a diesel engine. The petrol will be a 2.0-litre turbocharged mStallion engine that comes with direct injection whereas the 2.2-litre diesel engine will be a mHawk unit. Both the engines are expected to be the new benchmark in terms of refinement and power delivery.

The petrol engine would produce 200 PS of max power whereas the diesel engine would produce 185 PS of max power. This will make the XUV 700 more powerful than its rivals. The torque outputs are still not confirmed by the manufacturer. The lower variants would be front-wheel drive while the higher variants will come with an all-wheel-drive powertrain which is also first in the segment.
