A Delhi Court on Wednesday granted bail to BJP chief Ashwini Upadhyay, who was arrested and remanded to 2 days of judicial custody in reference to anti-Muslim sloganeering close to Jantar Mantar. He has been requested to deposit a surety of Rs 50,000, Live Law reported.
Earlier on Monday, a case was filed towards him after a video displaying anti-Muslim slogans being raised throughout a protest at Jantar Mantar had gone viral on the web.

Upadhyay disassociates himself from sloganeering
The former BJP spokesperson has reportedly disassociated himself with the individuals who raised the communal and anti-Mulsim slogans. Upadhyay in a video stated that no communal sloganeering passed off until the time he was on the protesting web site.
He additionally claimed that he’s unsure of the authenticity of the video and solid aspersions of it being faux or doctored. In case the video is true, Upadhyay has demanded strict motion towards the perpetrators.
