Sri Jagannath temple to open for devotees in phased manner from Aug 13

Puri, Aug 11(UNI) Sri Jagannath temple administration has resolved to open the Srimandir for

devotees in phased manner from August 13 next.

The temple remained closed for devotees from April 24 last to contain the covid pandemic.

Like previous year Sri Jagannath temple servitors and their family members could have

darshan of the Trinity for two days on August 13 and 14.

They will enter and exit through any of four gates of the temple and need not show any

vaccination or RT-PCR negative certificate at the entrance.

After two days weekend shutdown residents of Puri could have darshan of the deities for

five days from August 16 till August 20 next.

The standard operating procedure (SOP) released by the administration today said residents

of all 32 wards in a phased manner will be issued token mentioning time and date for entry into

temple.

They have to show Aadhar card at the main entrance -Lions gate for entry into the temple.

Darshan will be stopped for weekend shut down and resume on August 23 for all. Darshan

will begin from 7AM till 7 PM everyday except weekend shut down days.

Devotees intending to enter temple for darshan of the Trinity have to furnish complete

vaccination certificate or RT-PCR test negative report obtained within 96 hours at the

temple entry point.

All the visitors have to wear double mask and maintain social distancing, sanitise hands and

enter into temple in queue system through Lions gate and exit through North gate.

They should not carry any flower, offering. They are not allowed to light dias and touch other

deities in the temple complex. The devotees are prohibited to dine at Anand bazar Mahaprasad

market.

Separate queue will be made to facilitate differently able devotees enter into temple for

darshan.

Spitting inside the temple complex evoke fine of Rs.500 and Rs.100 for carrying polythene

bags, the SOP said.
