BHUBANESWAR: The state government has decided to start the process of appointing 11,450 school
teachers soon.
“The appointments will help in reducing the vacant positions in secondary schools,” school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan
Dash said.
As per the direction of the state government, the appointment process for vacant teaching posts in secondary schools will be done in a phased manner and notification in this regard will be issued soon, Dash added.
The minister informed that in the first phase 4,619 teaching positions will be filled up, including 2,055 for
Hindi teachers, 1304 for Sanskrit and 1260 posts of physical education. The notification and advertisement be issued on August 23.
In the second phase 6,065 trained graduate teachers (TGT)s and
Telugu language teachers will be given appointment and in third phase 940 newly created posts for TGTs, classical and Hindi teachers will be appointed. The advertisement application for these posts will be issued soon, an official source said.
There is a vacancy of nearly 14,000 teachers in government and aided secondary schools while the vacancy in primary schools is around 21,000.
