Your body of work is excellent. What are your learnings from the TV industry?
It’s a new battle everyday where you meet different people. Then, you have to do seven to eight scenes a day, be it a comedy scene, drama or a fight sequence. You have to learn how to immediately switch on and switch off.
You are playing Dansh in Hero Gayab Mode. What is unique about your role?
Dansh is a negative character. The unique thing about Dansh’s character is that it requires a lot of patience, because it takes two-and-a-half hours to put on the makeup. So, you need to sit at one place and then a heavy costume. With all that you have to act and do action scenes as well.
Two changes you find in the entertainment industry.
Firstly, we have changed a lot technically, be it VFX or graphics, music, or cinematography. It is a very big change. There is one more change that I have noticed and that is you have to finish the work as soon as possible.
How is it shooting in the new normal?
Initially, I was a little scared but now it’s fine. People are used to it now and so am I. I am glad that we are working.
TV content has become very progressive. What is your view?
This is true. Our stories and concepts have progressed a lot. Like our show Hero Gayab Mode On, this kind of show was never there earlier. Other shows that you see on other channels seem fun and different too.
Since how many years have you been maintaining your bald look?
It’s been 11 years since I’ve gone bald. After that people have not let my hair grow.
What is your dream role?
When I was doing Chanakya, I didn’t know that this role would become my dream role.
You’ve done television, films, theatre and OTT too. What difference do you find in these mediums?
By the grace of God, I’ve done a little bit on every platform, and I want to keep doing it in future as well. The difference in all four is nothing. You can say that if you are good then you are good everywhere.
