Dak Prescott to have another MRI, eyes 3rd preseason game

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said Wednesday he will undergo another MRI on his throwing shoulder but remains hopeful he'll be able to play in the team's third exhibition game.

Prescott will have the MRI, considered precautionary, in Dallas after the Cowboys return from training camp in Oxnard, Calif. Prescott suffered a Grade 1 shoulder strain in practice July 28. He was given a timetable of two weeks to return to full practice.

Prescott threw passes for a second consecutive day Wednesday after reporting no soreness from Tuesday's 30 throws.

Prescott missed the Hall of Fame Game and is not expected to play in Friday's second preseason game against Arizona. The Cowboys then play Houston on Aug. 21.

"That's the plan," Prescott said Wednesday, adding that he hopes to participate in team drills Monday.

He added that if the Cowboys had a regular season game on Sunday, he would play.
