Five-star power forward Kijani Wright commits to USC

Kijani Wright, a five-star power forward from California in the Class of 2022, announced on social media Wednesday he was committing to Southern California.

Wright is considered the second-ranked power forward and No. 12 overall recruit in the class by 247Sports' composite rankings.

The 6-foot-9 Wright chose USC over Stanford, Arkansas and Texas. For his senior year of high school, he will play at Sierra Canyon, whose powerhouse basketball program includes LeBron James' son Bronny James and fellow five-star prospect Amari Bailey.

"Really the coach (Andy Enfield) and the culture here," Wright said on an Instagram Live hosted by The Undefeated. "I know athletics, and the balance between athletics and academics, was really important to me when I'm making my decision. I just found that the school was high in academics and high in athletics."

The Trojans made a surprise run to the Elite Eight in last season's NCAA Tournament as a No. 6 seed, the program's deepest run since 2001.
