TelOne considers using wireless and fibre equipment to curb theft and vandalism

Zimbabwean operator TelOne is contemplating going wireless by adopting fibre-optic technology to curb theft and vandalism of its telecom infrastructure, The Chronicle reported. Head of corporate communications Melody Harry said the company was implementing short-term solutions with a view to turning to fibre as a long-lasting solution. Harry said incidents have been on the increase, with vandals mostly targeting mostly copper and steel installations.
