GREATER NOIDA: In a
video that has been widely shared on social media platforms, a woman can be seen beating up a man, who she said, had been stalking her for a couple of months.
In the 21-seconds-long clip, the woman, in her twenties, can be seen holding the accused by the collar and kicking him in the legs. She has alleged that the man named Kuldeep made objectionable comments at her when she was near
Jewar intersection on Sunday. The incident was recorded by a local resident.
According to police, the Class XI student was returning home after visiting a doctor and Kuldeep was standing at a mobile shop in the area.
“The woman said the accused saw her at a vegetable market for the first time a couple of months ago. Since then, he has been stalking and teasing her,” Jewar SHO Umesh
Bahadur said. On Sunday, after the man passed some lewd remarks again, the woman started thrashing him. A passerby informed the nearest police chowki and a team reached the spot.
The SHO said that they have received a complaint from the woman and will lodge an
FIR under IPC Section 354D (stalking) against Kuldeep.
The man is from Jewar and works at a mobile repairing shop in Haryana’s Palwal, police said.
