If you are using Google Chrome browser on your PC then it is highly recommended that you upgrade your browser immediately to the latest version of Google Chrome-- version 92.0.4515.131.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) in a high severity security advisory warned that users must upgrade to the latest version of Google Chrome as multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Google Chrome which could be exploited by a remote attacker to compromise a targeted system.

“These vulnerabilities exist in Google Chrome due to heap buffer overflow error in Bookmarks; use after free error in File System API, Browser UI or Page Info UI; out of bounds write error in Tab Groups; out of bounds read error in Tab Strip, incorrect security UI in Navigation for Windows, Mac and Linux,” CERT-In said in its advisory.

Explaining how a hack may be carried out, CERT-In said, “A remote attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by executing a specially crafted document. Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow the remote attacker to compromise the targeted system.”

Recently, CERT-In warned Apple iPhone and iPad users to immediately update their devices to iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1. The agency, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said that both iOS and iPadOS have active vulnerabilities that are “currently being exploited”.

CERT-In issued a ‘high’ severity alert around the newly discovered memory corruption vulnerability. The devices that are affected are iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later and iPod touch (7th generation).
