Coimbatore: Customs officials intercepted two passengers at the Coimbatore international airport on early Monday morning and seized 883g of smuggled gold worth Rs 42.82 lakh from the duo. Acting on a tip-off, customs officials intercepted two passengers - Ramasamy Sekar and Dharma Arul Netaji - who arrived from Sharjah by Air Arabia flight at 3.50am on Monday. On checking the baggage of the two passengers, customs officials found some paste-like substance mixed with gold concealed in their underwear.
