A 35-year-old taxi driver had been killed, and nine other people injured after a bus, taxi and Hyundai bakkie crashed in Nseleni near Richards Bay on Tuesday.
The minibus taxi caught fire after the vehicles collided, and the driver died.
The accident happened on the R619 road between Nseleni and Richards Bay at 07:00.

Reports indicate that the bus collided with the minibus taxi, and a bakkie carrying school pupils overturned while trying to avoid the accident.
Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said that nine people had sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital for medical attention.
According to the uMhlathuze municipality, the road was opened immediately after the emergency services recovered the wreckage.

Empangeni police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
"The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated," added Gwala.
