The Indian rupee fell against the US dollar tracking the firm American currency. The rupee currently traded lower 14 paise at 74.41 against US Dollar.
On Monday, the local unit snapped a five-day winning streak and settled at 74.26 against the dollar tracking firmness in the greenback overseas.
Meanwhile, the dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies has managed to break above the 93 levels.
Besides, foreign institutional investors were net buyers in the capital market on Monday as they purchased shares worth Rs211.91cr, as per exchange data.
On the domestic equity market front, BSE Sensex was trading 111 points higher at 54,515.22, while the broader NSE Nifty advanced 8 points at 16,266.20.
