Assam Recorded as the highest number of Beggar in Northeast and second in the Country
Assam has topped the chart with the highest number of beggars and second highest in the entire country after West Bengal with a total number of 22,116 beggars in the state.
On an average, the state has the highest number of beggars in the country out of 1 lakh population as per the report.
Stating the government’s failure in progressive leadership, Pradyut Bora, chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) told media today that the entire political leadership lacks two things – vision and aggregating capability and that everybody has failed them irrespective of party. He also mentioned that the state per capita income which was once 4per cent above the national average during the time of Independence now stands at 45 per cent below the national average.
Baksa BJP Vice President Jaminee Swargiary killed in a tragic road Accident
Jaminee Swargiary, BJP vice president of Baksa district lost her life in a tragic road accident that occurred on the Rangia- Tamulpur- Bhutan National Highway in front of Tamulpur Higher Secondary School.
The incident occurred when Swargiary was returning home along with her daughter on a scooty after hearing that the programme which was supposed to be held by health minister keshab Mahanta to visit Tamulpur medical College and hospital was cancelled. The scooty was hit by a dumper truck bearing the number PB-10-CZ-9091. Her daughter who was critically injured was still undergoing treatment at Rangia.

Assam Assembly pass bill to raise borrowing ceiling by 0.50 per cent of the State’s GSDP
The Assam Assembly on Monday passed a bill that will now enable the Government to raise the borrowings ceiling by 0.50 per cent of the state’s GSDP. The Bill was passed by voice vote as the congress refused to withdraw it proposed amendment to it.
