Gold futures settled slightly higher Tuesday after putting in their lowest settlement since March on Monday, following a plunge of more than 5% intraday in early Asian trading hours. December gold GCZ21, +0.27% GC00, +0.27% closed $5.20, or 0.3%, to end at $1,731.70 an ounce.
