    Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 2.02%

    Synopsis

    The Nifty Realty index closed 2.02 per cent down at 392.4.

    Retail and banking stocks rose 0.5 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.
    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.

    Shares of Prestige Estates Projects (up 0.03 per cent) and Oberoi Realty (up 0.02 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate (down 4.91 per cent), SOBHA (down 4.11 per cent), Sunteck Realty (down 3.62 per cent), Brigade Enterprises (down 3.57 per cent) and Phoenix Mills (down 3.2 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty Realty index closed 2.02 per cent down at 392.4.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.85 points at 16280.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 151.81 points at 54554.66.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, SAIL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Rex Pipes and Cables Industries Ltd., Pritika Auto Ind, Network People Services Technologies Ltd., Repro India and Kshitij Polyline hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Stylam Ind, Grauer & Weil, Andrew Yule, Viceroy Hotels and Bright Solar hit their fresh 52-week lows.
