The government today pushed through six Bills, three of which were passed, in the Lok Sabha despite Opposition protests over Pegasus row and other issues.
The Bills passed are Limited Liability Partnership (Amendment) Bill, 2021, Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2021, and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
The government also introduced three Bills, including the National Commission for Homoeopathy (Amendment) Bill, 2021, and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
Congress leader Manish Tewari alleged that democracy was being “murdered” with the government pushing with the legislative agenda even though the House was not in order. However, when the Constitution (127th Amendment) Bill, 2021, to restore the states’ right to list OBCs, was to be introduced, opposition members vacated the well and went back to their seats.
