It was revealed last month that Teyana is set to star in A Thousand and One - which has been written and directed by A. V. Rockwell.
According to Deadline, the film follows Inez (Teyana), who kidnaps six-year-old Terry from the foster care system.
Holding onto their secret and each other, mother and son set out to reclaim their home, as well as their identity and stability, in a rapidly changing New York City.
Other cast members and a release date are yet to be announced.

Teyana may be focusing more of her efforts on acting after making the shocking announcement in December that she was retiring from making music.
But in April, the musician clarified that she wasn't retiring for good and was just sharing her frustrations with Kanye West's record label GOOD Music.
'I felt like the label wasn’t really hearing me and seeing me,' she told Cam Newton on his BET series Sip 'n Smoke. 'I felt underappreciated. So, for my mental health, my mental well-being, for my kids, let me just put this on ice for a little [bit].
'It’s not that I retired permanently. It’s more like, I just don’t feel like I want to move another inch for a company.'

Teyana, who recently topped Maxim's Hot 100 list, expressed interest in another acting project late last year.
The hitmaker was angling to play legendary singer Dionne Warwick in a series she pitched to Netflix about her incredible life and career.
However, the potential project was later envisioned as a biopic film after super-producer Scott Rudin took interest.
Earlier this year, a torrent of allegations of physical and emotional abuse from Rudin's former employees was unleashed, which appears to have scuttled the project, at least for the time being.
