Nicole Byer, the Emmy-nominated host of Netflix’s unscripted baking-comedy competition “Nailed It,” is getting her first hour-long stand-up comedy special on the streamer.

The currently untitled special will be filmed at the Gramercy Theatre in New York on Sept. 5 and will premiere later this year.

“I’m so fucking excited to do this. I’m so grateful that Netflix is giving me a nice lil platform to have some fun tee hee hee,” Byer said in a statement.

In addition to “Nailed It,” which drops its sixth season on Sept. 15, Byer can be seen on Netflix in the 2019 “Comedians of the World,” where she was the only woman alongside three men from the U.S. (Neal Brennan, Chris D’Elia and Nick Swardson). Her episode of that show is 30 minutes of stand-up.

Byer made history last year when she received her first Emmy nomination in the reality host category; she was the first Black woman to ever make that ballot. This year she received her second consecutive nomination in the category and is still the only Black woman to be recognized there.

In addition to her work with Netflix, Byer co-hosts TBS’ “Wipeout”; is the author of “#VERYFAT #VERYBRAVE: The Fat Girl’s Guide to Being #Brave and Not a Dejected, Melancholy, Down-in-the-Dumps Weeping Fat Girl in a Bikini”; and hosts multiple podcasts, including “Why Won’t You Date Me?” and “Best Friends! With Sasheer Zamata.” Up next she can be seen in NBC’s comedy “Grand Crew” about a group of friends talking about life and love at a wine bar.

Byer is repped by WME, Artists First and Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein Kohner & Gellman. Her upcoming special is produced by All Things Comedy.
