Mumbai, Aug 9 (UNI) BSE Sensex on Monday rose by 153 pts at 54,430.88 in the opening session as buying was seen in Materials, Finance and FMCG stocks.
The Nifty too advanced by 38 pts at 16,276.75.
The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 54,584.73 and 54,336.86 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 16,320.75 and 16,246.45 pts respectively.
The Mid Cap and Small Cap fell by 0.40 pc and 0.21 pc respectively.
In 30 scrips, 23 advanced, 6 declined and 1 unchanged.
The gainers were M & M by 2.20 pc to Rs 775.05, Bajaj Finserv by 2.03 pc to Rs 14,289.05, Tech Mahindra by 1.13 pc to Rs 1279.15 and Axis Bank by 1.13 pc to Rs 749.85.
The losers were Ultracemco by 0.03 pc to Rs 7525, Infosys by 0.04 pc to Rs 1649.65, Maruti Suzuki by 0.12 pc to Rs 7093.55 and Dr Reddy Lab by 0.36 pc to Rs 4772.
