A woman has claimed a tooth infection 'almost killed her' after her local dental practice cancelled her emergency appointment.
Tori, from Manchester, took to TikTok to reveal how she was hospitalised after the infection in her tooth had spread into her bloodstream and left her needing surgery.
She had tried to book an emergency appointment with her dentist after her face started to swell and her tooth became painful - but was scheduled in for the following day.
However, the next day, Tori claimed the nurse at the practice told her they had cancelled her appointment and forgot to tell Tori.
Soon, Tori was finding it difficult to breathe and rang the hospital, where a nurse immediately told her to go to A&E upon hearing her symptoms.

Uploading a clip about her ordeal to TikTok in June, where it has since been viewed more than 200,000 times, Tori said: 'A short story about how my tooth almost killed me.'
She explained that she woke up one morning with a sore tooth, with it becoming more painful and her face eventually swelling as the day went on.

'Face became the size of a football overnight', she said, and claimed to have called her dentist to try and get an emergency appointment.
The receptionist informed Tori that the earliest meeting would be the next day.

Soon, Tori (pictured in her TikTok clip) was finding it difficult to breathe and rang the hospital, where a nurse immediately told her to go to A&E upon hearing her symptoms
But when arriving at the practice, Tori said she was told by a nurse 'that they had cancelled my appointment but forgot to call me, [and] told me to book for the next day.'
She added: '[I] wasn't able to breathe properly, called the hospital and told them my symptoms.'

Tori said the doctors told her she would need surgery but couldn't perform it until the swelling had gone down as there would be a risk of nerve damage
A week later, Tori said she finally had the surgery she needed and is now doing a lot better.
Social media users couldn't believe her dentist had turned her away, with one person saying: 'I work in a dental office and this is not OK! I would have got you in that day.'
'How could they at least not give you antibiotics? Standard protocol,' another questioned.
