Thread: New Cybex Squat Press

Cybex press was delivered this morning. Delivery went ok. Not sure how familiar the delivery team was with the actualproduct. But they were careful and determined to do a good job. This piece had to fit through a standard doorway. Even after popping the main door off it still would not fit through because of the front leg width. So they had to remove the foot plate piece and the side arm that attached the plate to the frame.

Getting the plate back on was no easy task. There are two separate metal tubes within the outer tube and trying to hold the foot plate section and get it all sections lined up to fit the metal pin back in, was no easy task. Super tight with no room for error. Seems every time one side would go in the other tube section would move. But they got it done. No damage. But having to remove this agin someday if/when I move is not something I am looking forward too.

Did a leg workout today.

Pros: I really do like the piece. super smooth.
Love that the footplate that moves with the movement of your feet/ankles. zero stress in that area.Zero noise.
Coming from the noisy body craft this was most welcoming.
Also the footprint of the piece is not overwhelming.

Cons: I am at 6ft. I felt that at the starting position I am super close to the footplate. Not sure how somebody much taller would be comfortable in starting out the exercise.
Seat does not adjust- but I understand why. since unlike a 45 or 35 degree standard press, the footplate starts high and comes toward you.
On this piece you start the exercise a bit lower. The movement of this machine just wouldn't work right if you sat too far back. Not a biggie, I will adjust easily.
I am Just used to using a standard leg press my whole life.

Overall I am happy with it.

That is a solid piece of kit. Wish I had the space and the funds for it.

Edit: weight limit 500 lbs? That would be a dealbreaker for me.
