A knife-wielding 26-year-old man bit an EMS worker before taking his ambulance on a joy ride in the Bronx, cops said Monday.
The bizarre attack happened just after 4 a.m. Monday when the man, identified by cops as Daniel Carby, attacked a first responder transporting a patient just outside the Bronx Zoo on Southern Boulevard, police said.
Carby allegedly bit and scratched the worker and threatened them with a knife, cops said.
The first responder was able to get the patient out of the ambulance before Carby allegedly took off in the St. Barnabas Hospital-owned vehicle, according to police.
Cops later caught up to Carby in East Harlem and took him into custody. Charges were still pending Monday morning.
