LS adjourned till 1200 hrs amid Oppn protests over Pegasus row, farm laws

New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) Proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 1200 hrs on Monday amid ruckus by the Opposition over various issues, including Pegasus snooping row and new farm laws.

As the Members reassembled after the first adjournment at 1130 hrs, the Opposition Members, carrying

placards, trooped into the Well of the House and started sloganeering over the issues.

When the ruckus continued unabated, Rajendra Agarwal, who was in the Chair, adjourned the House till 1200 hrs.

The House was earlier adjourned till 1130 hrs over the same issues.

Before taking up the Question Hour, Speaker Om Birla congratulated Indian track and field athlete

Neeraj Chopra who scripted history by winning a gold medal in the men's javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics on behalf of the House.



He also congratulated wrestler Bajrang Punia on clinching a bronze medal.

When the Question Hour commenced, the Opposition Members, carrying placards, rushed into the Well and started sloganeering.

Mr Birla made repeated requests to the protesting members to resume their seats.

When the agitating members continued with their protests, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1130 hrs.

Last week also, the House witnessed frequent disruptions with very few bills being passed by voice vote amid pandemonium.
