The superhero genre receives another boost with Marvel’s What If…? series set to explore various layers of the multiverse, and teenage rom-com vibes are about to soar high with The Kissing Booth 3. Bollywood is ready to release two huge biographical war films with Sidharth Malhotra-led Shershaah and Ajay Devgan’s Bhuj: The Pride of India. 1. Shershaah (August 12)

An ode to the Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra, this biopic aims to showcase his valiant efforts in leading the capture of Points 5140 and 4875 during the conflict, for which he received the Param Vir Chakra posthumously. The film also touches upon his life before the army, his relationship with his twin brother Vishal, his passion for the forces, and more. The cast features Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.

2. Modern Love Season 2 (August 13)

The romantic-comedy anthology series, based on The New York Times column of the same name, returns with eight new enticing love stories in a new season. These tales aim to examine various facets of love, including sexual, romantic, self, platonic, and more via events unfolding all across The Big Apple. Some of the new faces making an appearance this time around will be Kit Harrington, Susan Blackwell, Garret Hedlund, Lucy Boynton, among others.

3. Bhuj: The Pride of India (August 13)

Based on actual events from the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Bhuj: The Pride of India celebrates the efforts of 300 Gujarati women in aiding the Indian forces against the enemy. When the only Indian Air Force strip in Bhuj is destroyed during armed conflict, squadron leader Vijay Karnik and his men team up with local women from a nearby village to reconstruct it against all odds. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Nora Fatehi, Ammy Virk, and Sharad Kelkar.

4. The Kissing Booth 3 (August 11)

Elle, Noah, and Lee return to the beach house for a final adventure before they head off to college in the final instalment of The Kissing Booth. Elle escapes reality to bask in the freedom of summer, but impending life choices swing her back to reality. Having to pick a college and move away from either her boyfriend or her best friend tears her apart as she tries to make the right decision. Meanwhile, an unexpected person from her past makes things more difficult.

5. What If...? (August 11)

The first animated original series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, What If...? is an unapologetic dive into the Marvel multiverse where infinite possibilities come to light. Narrated by Uatu/The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright), the plot takes vital moments from the MCU's narrative and turns them upside down. From Tony Stark being saved by Eric Killmonger before the former became Iron Man to Peggy Carter taking the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rodgers, the show aims to present fresh perspectives on what was and what could have been.

6. Shaman King (August 9)

A reboot of the 2001 anime based on the manga of the same name, Shaman King follows the exploits of Yoh Asakura as he tries to hone his skills as a shaman—a medium between the human and the spirit world. Attempting to contact the Great Spirit to attain the power of reshaping the world, he must compete and win the Shaman fight, held every 500 years. His journey eventually puts him face to face with his estranged twin, Hao, who aims to exterminate humanity.

7. Untold: Malice at the Palace (August 10)

The first of a five-part sports documentary series that aims to depict what goes on beyond the headlines, Malice at the Palace focuses on NBA's Indiana Pacers during an incident from 2004. A game with their fierce rivals, Detroit Pistons, saw a brawl break out on the court, that led to three Indiana players receiving the longest suspensions in the league's history. The men in question, Ron Artest, Stephen Jackson, and Jermaine O’Neal, now tell their side of the story in an attempt to salvage their long-lost reputation via this documentary.

8. Beckett (August 13)

John David Washington plays an American tourist, Beckett, vacationing in Greece when a car accident brings about an early end to his holiday in the most unexpected of ways. He finds himself involved in a political conspiracy that sees him become the target of a deadly manhunt. The only hope for him is to make it to the American embassy and clear his name but with every passing minute, death inches closer.
