Mysuru, Aug 9 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai on Monday said that he has decided to visit all the border districts of the state to assess Covid-19 situation.
Talking to mediapersons after worshiping Chamundeshwari, principal deity of Mysuru, he said he will hold a meeting with officials about the covid situation in Mysore district which is bordering Kerala and review the Covid control measures.
"I have decided to visit all border districts where covid infection is most prevalent," he said.
On the Mekedattu project, he reiterated the project will be implemented. Bommai said that he will visit New Delhi again and hold talks with the concerned minister.
On the way to Mysuru, Chief Minister Bommai, along with other cabinet ministers, had breakfast at Shivalli hotel.
Concerned over the spread of the virus from the neighbouring Kerala and Maharashtra, the Karnataka government has announced weekend curfew in all districts bordering the two states.
Those districts that are bordering Maharashtra where weekend curfew is being imposed are- Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura and Kalaburagi-, similarly those districts bordering Kerala are- Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Mysuru and Chamarajanagara.
The Chief Minister, who reviewed the Covid situation on Friday, had announced certain containment measures according to which the government had advanced the night curfew across the state by an hour, from 2100 hours to 0500 hours everyday, instead of 2200 hours to 0500 hours.
