Why PAW Patrol: The Movie is THE perfect first cinema experience for YOUR little pups (and it stars Kim Kardashian, Sam Faiers AND Ronan Keating!)

On a wet day during the summer holidays (and let's face it, we've had a few this year), a trip to the cinema is a special treat the whole family can enjoy.

But if you've never taken your little one before, a huge screen, booming surround-sound and a room full of strangers sitting in the dark could seem like a daunting experience.

That's why it's important that for their first cinema trip, you pick the right movie - and boy, have we got the paw-fect one in mind (and it even stars Kim Kardashian!).

If your kids are fans of PAW Patrol, they're probably already hounding you to go and see PAW Patrol: The Movie, which is in UK cinemas now and sees the adorable pups hit the silver screen once again.

The action-packed film follows the pack of bright-eyed canine rescue heroes as they save the citizens of Adventure City from Mayor Humdinger's super-sized troublemaking.

Here's why PAW Patrol: The Movie is the ideal first cinema experience for your kids (just don't forget the pupcorn!).

AN A-LIST CAST

While PAW Patrol and Keeping Up With The Kardashians couldn't be more different (with the latter being very much a post-watershed affair), the upcoming animated movie provides Kim Kardashian with her first major acting role.

The reality star is voicing the character of Delores, a glamorous poodle that works in an animal shelter.

And she's not the only paw-some casting the movie has secured. Singer and radio presenter Ronan Keating is set to make a cameo appearance as the voice of Harris.

He will be joined by McFly's Tom Fletcher, reality star Sam Faiers and presenter Richard Arnold.

The star-studded cast also boasts a string of A-list additions including Tyler Perry as Gus, a truck driver who is rescued by Chase, Jimmy Kimmel as Adventure City News Network's news anchor Marty Muckracker, and comedians Randall Park and Dax Shepard as security guards Butch and Ruben.

Add to all these a catchy original song from Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, called Good Mood, and it's clear to see why even parents will have a reason to love this movie!

THEIR FAVOURITE CARTOON - ON THE BIG SCREEN

Since it began in 2013, PAW Patrol has remained one of the most popular cartoons for young children.

Thanks to its cute characters - who doesn't love a superhero, problem-solving puppy? - catchy rhymes ('Paw Patrol is on a roll!') and singalong songs, the show has well and truly stood the test of time.

Now, this latest PAW Patrol movie is taking it to the next level.

If your child has never been to the cinema, why not nurture their excitement by having a PAW Patrol binge the evening before?

And if they're at all nervous on the day, make sure you bring along their favourite PAW Patrol toy for them to cuddle during the trailers.

ACTION-PACKED STORY THAT'LL KEEP THEM GRIPPED 'TIL THE END

The plot of the film sees Ryder (voiced by Will Brisbin), Chase (Iain Armitage) and the rest of the puppy protagonists take on their biggest mission yet.

After receiving an SOS call from a pup in need, the canine heroes travel to Adventure City to try to save it from the chaos caused by their number one rival - dastardly Mayor Humdinger (Ron Pardo) and his Kitten Catastrophe Crew.

With a string of missing dogs in the city, suspicions mount that Humdinger - who is 'more of a cat person' according to his bodyguard - could have something to do with it.

While one pup is forced to face his past in Adventure City, the team finds help from a new ally, sassy dachshund Liberty (Marsai Martin).

Together, armed with exciting new gadgets after moving into their new state-of-the-art Adventure City HQ complete with a new and improved pup treat dispenser - something Rubble the English Bulldog pup is very happy about - the PAW Patrol must fight to rescue the residents of the bustling metropolis and stop Mayor Humdinger in his tracks.

PERFECT ESCAPISM (WITH JOKES FOR THE ADULTS, TOO!)

It's fair to say it's not been the easiest of years, so many of us could probably benefit from a bit of escapism.

PAW Patrol: The Movie offers that in spades - and while kids will love its child-friendly lingo, there are a handful of gags that will likely go over their heads, thrown in for the adults to enjoy - such as Mayor Humdinger's aspiration to prove a hit with 'influencers with over 10,000 followers'.

The film is directed by Cal Brunker, who previously worked as an animator, storyboard artist and director on movies such as Despicable Me, Looney Tunes: Back in Action and Escape from Planet Earth.

It also features a new original song by Maroon 5 lead vocalist Adam Levine, called Good Mood - good luck trying to get it out of your head...

ADORABLE NEW CHARACTERS

As well as the usual crew, the PAW Patrol's thrilling first big-screen mission sees them encounter a few new recruits whom kids are guaranteed to fall in love with.

The stand-out star is Liberty, an enthusiastic and savvy long-haired dachshund pup who has been a lifelong Adventure City resident and becomes one of the team's key allies.

With her gorgeous big brown eyes and chocolate button nose, she looks like butter wouldn't melt - until she hollers at drivers in a traffic jam to 'move out the way!'

The pups also encounter a fun new human character once they arrive in Adventure City - a female scientist called Kendra Wilson, who helps top dog Ryder design new gear for the PAW Patrol.

So what are you waiting for? Head down to your local cinema before it's too late; you'd be barking mad to miss it...
