“Feel You” by Sandesh Motwani & Oshin is a song that keeps growing on you

The world of music is vast, teeming with good songs & artists popping up every second. The options are so wide that it is commendable in itself for a song to capture your full attention these days. But every now & then there comes a song that slowly grows on you, like vines on a wall, creating a lasting impression on the canvas of your mind. ‘Feel You’ is one such song, worth having (for a long time) in your playlist.

The track is written & composed by Sandesh Motwani & Oshin. Sandesh Motwani is a Dubai/Mumbai based artist, popular for multiple mash-up covers and now originals. Oshin is an up and coming artist with a lot of promise in her talents. This 3.5 minute-long track gives off an impression that it is here to stay & we cannot wait for more from these two.

There is an intrinsic feel of desire in the entire song that plays with the possibility of something fresh, leaving it up to the listener to interpret its ending in more than one way. Play it in bed with bae, on a long night drive, with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine as it rains outside, on a romantic dinner date and more – the mood of the song is quite versatile.

The story of this track began on a Monday morning over an excited phone call. It has been carefully crafted with great attention to details over the course of the last year. Oshin & Sandesh bring a great variety of talents to the table between themselves in the domains of composition, songwriting, production, as well as the visual arts & fashion.

There is a certain beauty in the way Sandesh and Oshin’s vocals blend without overshadowing each other’s uniqueness. Individual signature styles shine through in their collaboration – whether it is Sandesh’s soulful rendition or Oshin’s deep and husky voice.

Sandesh Motwani also brings complexity to the beautiful layering of instruments which is a signature for him. His production quality has been top-notch even in previous tracks and this one is no different. A sonorous blend of strings, horns, guitars and more delivers a rich musical experience, backed by a highly groovable beat on the drums. To complement this complexity, Sandesh uses vocal layering and harmonies dexterously to add a new dimension to the piece.

The words that take you along on the journey are from Oshin’s pen and so is the lead melody that brings freshness to the track. This mix creates a track that oscillates tantalisingly between sexy and sweet, smoothly blending together with the sensual flow of the rhythm.

Having already worked on a mash-up cover of God Is A Woman & Rehna Tu, these two artists are capable of bringing out the best in each other. The mash-up saw their unique approaches balance each other out to add a distinct twist to Ariana Grande’s popular track – all the while reimagining the soulful pull of A.R Rahman’s wondrous composition. The result was a track where Oshin and Sandesh’s talents clicked together for the first time and kicked off the journey that has brought us a track like Feel You.

Even with the track being out for more than a month now, we haven’t been able to get it out of our heads and our playlists. As a perfect blend of two very unique individual styles and aesthetics, this one’s a must listen. Catch the track if you haven’t already on all leading music streaming platforms – and feel the music sway you wherever you are.
