Patna, Aug 09 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that his party would contest
Assembly elections in other states scheduled to be held next year.
Mr Kumar told media persons here that delegates from several states in national executive
committee meeting in New Delhi, had expressed their willingness that JD(U) should contest
Assembly elections there.
As per their wishes, decision had been taken to contest Assembly elections in other states
outside Bihar, he added.
Chief Minister said that JD (U) was recognised in only two states but the party could contest in
other states as well.
JD(U) would try to enter into alliance with NDA allies in Uttar Pradesh and some other states
but would contest alone if it did not materialise, he added.
Mr Kumar dismissed speculations over JD(U) contesting 200 seats in Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, saying there was no such thing.
To a query, he said that decision on his possibility of campaigning in Uttar Pradesh Assembly
election in favour of party candidates would be taken at appropriate time and there was no need
to think over it in advance.
