While it may have only been a friendly, Tottenham claimed the local bragging rights after edging out north London rivals Arsenal 1-0 in their final pre-season friendly.
Son-Heung min, in the absence of wantaway striker Harry Kane, proved the difference for Spurs after lashing home in the 79th minute following fine work from Japhet Tanganga.
With both sides spurning some glorious chances to take the lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Mind Series friendly, it appeared the game would peter out into a 0-0 draw.

Both sides had hit the woodwork in the opening period, Tottenham through Dele Alli and Arsenal through Alexandre Lacazette.
However, neither side could make their dominance count when on top as they both lacked any real quality in the final third.
But Son came up trumps for Spurs after striking low past Bernd Leno to his left to give his side a 1-0 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining.
Tanganga did brilliantly to win the ball off Nicolas Pepe in the corner before offloading to Giovani Lo Celso.

The Argentine then played it back into the path of Tottenham right back Tanganga, who far too easily brushed off Pablo Mari in the penalty area.
Tanganga then pulled the ball back to Son, who swivelled before firing a fierce left-footed shot past Leno into the bottom right corner.
Bukayo Saka, who received a brilliant reception from the fans at Tottenham's stadium following his Euro 2020 heartbreak, had a golden chance to equalise for Arsenal late on.
However his effort with his weak right foot was comfortably saved by Spurs' new goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini - who came on for Hugo Lloris late on to make his debut.
The same old problems plagued Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal side, with his attack proving far too insipid again.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was ineffective down the left, and when he was given the chance to punish Spurs, he fluffed his lines by missing a volley early on in the second period.
Arteta still has plenty to do in the transfer window before the new season gets underway, with buying attacking talent - James Maddison, Bernardo Silva, Lautaro Martinez and Tammy Abraham have all been linked - his priority.
But on a more positive note for the Gunners, £50million new boy Ben White impressed on his full debut, keeping Son and Co relatively quiet while also bringing the ball out comfortably from the back, which is what Arteta has been looking for.
Arsenal begin their Premier League campaign away at newly-promoted Brentford on Friday night while Tottenham have the tough task of hosting reigning champions Manchester City next Sunday afternoon without Kane - who is a huge target for Pep Guardiola's side.

Saka goes very close to equalising for Arsenal, and it's the influence of the side's youngsters who get the visitors on the front foot.
Smith Rowe drives forward and plays in Saka but his right-footed effort is rather weak and saved down low by Gollini.
84 mins: Goalscorer Son is replaced by Scarlett for the closing stages of the friendly.
79 mins: Son breaks the deadlock for Tottenham with just over 10 minutes left.
Tanganga does very well here, winning the ball off Pepe in the corner before Lo Celso played him back in.
The right back far too easily brushes off Mari before squaring it to Son, who fired home past Leno into the bottom right corner of the net.
Saka has a great chance to open the scoring for Arsenal with just 15 minutes remaining but Skipp produces a great last-ditch tackle to deny the England star, who blocked Saka's effort.
Alli has another chance but it was speculative.
Spurs' attacking midfielder attempts the half-volley from a corner but his effort certainly doesn't trouble Leno - going well wide of the Arsenal goal.
72 mins: Arteta makes further subs as he looks to pick up no last-gasp injuries before the start of the new season.
Elneny comes on for Lokonga while Balogun takes the place of Lacazette for the closing stages.
Before both sets of subs, proceedings had started to heaten up.

First Tierney goes into the book in the 56th minute for a late challenge on Skipp, then just moments later, Xhaka receives a caution from the referee after fouling Reguilon.
Bergwijn looks to play Alli in through the middle, but his pass is overhit slightly and White is there to read the danger.
He has looked assured at the back so far for the Gunners.
After some early pressure from Tottenham in the second half, it's Arsenal who have the first real opening in the last 45 minutes.
Bellerin's deflected efforts lofts straight into the path of the unmarked Aubameyang but he completely misses the volley and Spurs survive...

The Frenchman volleys at goal first time but his fierce effort sails well wide of Lloris' left post.
Arsenal gaining the momentum in the last 10 minutes.
Tierney loses the ball deep inside Tottenham's half down the left. The hosts try to break and Lucas looks to play in Son, but White does well to cover and clear the danger for Arsenal.
The £50million Arsenal man then does very well to bring the ball out of his own half and win a free-kick for his side.

Son nearly opens the scoring in the 16th minute for Tottenham from close range after a good ball in from Lucas but Leno does brilliantly to deny the South Korean striker.
Leno is down injured after a blow to the stomach, but he soon gets up and the panic is over for Arsenal...
First shots at goal for both teams. Son with the first effort, but he drags his half-volley wide of Leno's right post.
Then just moments later, Aubameyang has space on the edge of the penalty area, but his effort sails well over the crossbar.
Lokonga enjoys a brilliant passage of play for Arsenal early on. Showing good composure and eye for a pass before stopping Lucas in his path.
He could be set to play a key role for the Gunners early on in the new Premier League campaign with Partey out injured.
Bergwijn then tries to play a one-two with Son as he looks to break into the penalty area but Arsenal stay resolute and clear the danger.

Tottenham make the better start early on. Both Lucas Moura and Dele Alli get into dangerous attacking positions but can't make anything from them.
Hojbjerg then calls for a penalty but the referee waves play on.
Tottenham and Arsenal finalise their Premier League preparations today with their last pre-season friendlies of the summer.
But it's certainly more than just a friendly for both sides, who will be hopeful of earning the bragging rights later.
