Leicester are working to identify supporters who abused Roy Keane and Ian Wright after the Arsenal legend complained about their behaviour during the Community Shield.

After Leicester beat Manchester City 1-0 at Wembley on Saturday, Wright said he and Keane - on duty as pundits for ITV - had been targeted by supporters sitting near their gantry. The Foxes have asked Wright to help them in their search.

'Let me just clear that up because obviously Leicester fans know how much respect I've got for them, their owners and constantly bigging up Leicester and what they do,' Wright said on Twitter.

"But what I got to say, doing punditry from the gantry where we were, some of the Leicester fans. They know what words they were mouthing to me, you let yourselves down bro, big time.

"Leicester shouldn't be acting like that, certain fans you don't represent Leicester.'

Wright also alleged that Keane, the former Ireland international, was the victim of a slur against his nationality.

Leicester have promised to investigate, with bans anticipated for any supporters who can be identified.

The club tweeted: 'Thank you for not letting this pass, @IanWright0. We'd welcome your help in identifying those involved so they can be held to account. We wholeheartedly condemn all forms of discrimination.'

Meanwhile Leicester will step up their hunt for a centre-back this week after manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed Wesley Fofana would not play again this year after breaking his leg in a pre-season friendly against Villarreal last week.

Daniel Amartey partnered Caglar Soyuncu at Wembley yet with Jonny Evans also absent at least until mid-September with a foot problem, Rodgers is determined to have an extra man in before his side begin their Premier League campaign against Wolves on Saturday.

Leicester would ideally like a player with Premier League experience and have targeted James Tarkowski or Burnley and Southampton's Jannik Vestergaard previously, but both would command significant transfer fees even though they have only one year left on their contracts.

Ozan Kabak, the Turkish defender who had a loan spell at Liverpool last season, is also thought to be of interest and may be available for a relatively low fee from struggling German club Schalke.

Former England defenders Phil Jones and Gary Cahill are thought to be have been proposed to Leicester though there are doubts whether either would be suited to Rodgers' preferred style of play.
