ANALYSIS/OPINION:
From the coal mines of Pennsylvania to the halls of Congress, Richard Trumka was a fierce advocate for working Americans everywhere (“AFL-CIO’s Richard Trumka dies at 72, was key ally of Biden White House,” Web, Aug. 5).
He loved this country, and he never missed an opportunity to remind us what we could be.
Trumka lived his beliefs: that work has dignity, that workers should be respected and have a voice and that justice and equality are hallmarks of a strong nation.
My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Barbara, their son, Rich Jr., and their grandchildren Richard and Taylor.
We will remember longtime AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka always and forever.
May he rest in peace.
