Automotive
Skills Development Council (ASDC) announced its partnership with ISIEINDIA
(Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers) and MG Motor. The collaboration will
address the challenges concerning electric vehicles (EVs) and the sustainable
employment of youth. It will help in creating skilled labour for the automobile
industry.
The partnership
will democratise high-end car technologies through online and offline skill
development courses for engineering students under the Centre of Excellence
(COE) for EV Research and Skill Development- Electric Vehicle Engineering.
The training
programme will focus on skill enhancement, improving employability in the
automotive sector while creating skilled labour for the future requirements of
the automotive industry.
The program will
enable young students to develop relevant skills in futuristic EV/HEV
technologies and become self-reliant. It will further strengthen the goal of
fulfilling a broader vision of Skill India.
Nikunj Sanghi, President, ASDC, said, “The
automobile industry is growing and moving towards electric vehicles. Hence,
skilled engineers are essential to accelerate this transformation and meet the
goals set by companies.”
Vinod Gupta,
President, ISIEINDIA, said, “Through our practice on EV Engineering programmes
and various EV training programs, we will be creating young entrepreneurs and
skilled engineers. COEs will be established at various Universities and
institutes to exchange their knowledge and excellence for EV skills development
and research.”
